What Is The Team University App?

If you've ever wondered what makes THE TEAM different from other ACN organizations, one of the biggest answers is sitting in your phone.
It's called The Team University App.
The Team University is our custom training, learning, recognition, and business development platform built specifically for the people building their ACN businesses with THE TEAM.
It's free to download, available through the Apple App Store and Google Play, and designed around a simple idea:
You shouldn't have to wait for the next meeting to learn what you need to know.
You should be able to learn it when you need it, wherever you are, and at a pace that works for you.
Where The Idea Came From
The idea for The Team University really started during COVID. The pandemic changed the way almost everyone consumed information.
Businesses moved online.
Meetings moved online.
People became much more comfortable learning, communicating, shopping, entertaining themselves, and building businesses from their phones. But something else was happening too.
People's attention was changing.
Think about what happened to entertainment. Movie theaters shut down, and streaming became an even bigger part of everyday life. Instead of sitting down at a specific time to watch something, people became accustomed to pressing play whenever they wanted, pausing whenever they wanted, and continuing whenever they had time.
Then came the explosion of short-form content.
Reels.
Shorts.
TikTok.
Five-minute YouTube videos.
People weren't necessarily becoming less interested in learning. They were becoming less interested in sitting through something unnecessarily long to learn one simple thing.
I've experienced this myself.
I've renovated things around my own home and learned how to do projects simply by searching YouTube and watching a five-minute video.
I didn't need a two-hour seminar on renovating a bathroom.
I needed someone to show me how to do the specific thing I was trying to accomplish.
That experience influenced the way we thought about training our team.
We Asked a Simple Question
What if ACN training worked the same way?
What if an IBO could open an app, find the specific skill they needed, watch a short lesson, answer a few questions, and immediately apply what they learned?
What if training didn't have to be something you attended?
What if it became something you could access?
That's the philosophy behind The Team University.
Training That Fits Your Life
One of the biggest advantages of an app is accessibility. You don't have to wait until Wednesday night. You don't have to wait for Saturday morning. You don't have to find an hour in your schedule. You can pull out your phone and learn.
Standing in line?

Five minutes before a customer meeting?

Driving isn't the time to watch a video, but you're sitting in the parking lot waiting for someone?

The goal isn't to replace live training. It's to make training available between the live training. That's an important distinction. We believe the strongest learning environment combines technology with real human interaction.
More Than Just a Training App
When we designed The Team University, we didn't want to create another video library. We wanted to create an ecosystem of support. That's why the app isn't just about courses.
The current platform includes areas for business updates, events, learning, recognition, and other resources designed to keep THE TEAM connected.
The goal is to give an IBO one place where they can continually develop their skills while staying connected to what's happening within the organization.
The University
This is the heart of the app.
The University contains our growing library of microlearning courses.
These courses are built around short lessons that focus on specific skills and principles that can help an IBO build their business.
Instead of giving someone a massive training manual and telling them to figure it out, we
break important concepts down into manageable pieces.
Watch.
Learn.
Answer questions.
Test your understanding.
Apply it.
Then move on to the next skill.
The app also uses gamification and skill-testing questions to reinforce learning and encourage progress.
Why Microlearning?
Because knowing something and being able to use it are two different things. You can sit through a three-hour seminar and feel inspired. Then two days later, you can't remember half of what you heard.
Microlearning takes a different approach.
Learn one concept.
Practice it.
Use it.
Come back and learn another.
Over time, those small lessons can become a much larger skill set.
That's exactly what we wanted to create.
Your Training Evolves as You Advance
One of the things I'm particularly proud of is that the training isn't designed to stop after someone learns the basics.
As an IBO develops and advances in ACN, additional course groups can become available that is relevant to their next level of leadership.
That creates a progression.
You're not simply downloading an app and watching the same videos forever. You're building your knowledge as you build your business.
A new IBO needs different information from someone developing a team.
Someone developing a team needs different skills from someone stepping into higher leadership.
Our goal is to make the training grow with your leadership level. For example, the course group for new IBOs is focused on a NEW IBO Launch Training, Basic System Training, and Testimonial Training. The Service Training course group has the most comprehensive master class trainings on Xoom Energy and Impact Health Sharing.
Recognition Was Another Big Reason We Built It
There was another problem COVID created that didn't have anything to do with training.
Recognition disappeared.
Before COVID, we would get together in person.
People would achieve milestones, promote, hit goals, make money, and we'd celebrate them.
Everyone could see it. Everyone could clap. Everyone could feel the energy in the room.
Then COVID happened and the meetings disappeared. Along with them, a lot of the recognition that made our culture special disappeared too.
We didn't want that to become permanent.
So we built recognition directly into the app.
Celebrate Progress
The Recognition section gives us a place to celebrate people who are advancing their businesses and reaching milestones. It's not just about recognizing the people at the top.
It's about recognizing progress.
Someone getting their first customers deserves recognition.
Someone promoting deserves recognition.
Someone hitting a personal goal deserves recognition.
Someone taking another step toward becoming a leader deserves recognition.
Success becomes much more powerful when people around you celebrate it. The current app includes monthly recognition and achievement badges as part of that experience.

There's a bigger philosophy behind all of this. We don't believe an IBO should be left alone after they enroll.

We Wanted to Build Something That Didn't Already Exist
If there was something out there like THE TEAM University App we would be using it. We started developing this idea to solve problems we were actually experiencing.
How do we train people who are busy?
How do we help someone who can't attend every meeting?
How do we make important information easier to find?
How do we keep people engaged?
How do we recognize people consistently?
How do we develop leaders as they advance?
And how do we make all of that accessible from a device that virtually everyone already carries?
The answer became The Team University.
To the best of our knowledge, we have not seen another ACN organization build this same type of custom, free-to-download team training platform specifically for ACN IBOs. And that's something we're extremely proud of.
Why We Believe It Has Contributed to Our Growth
Jordanna and I started building our ACN business in 2012 and have been a part of the industry since 2008.
We've experienced the industry before smartphones became the center of everything.
We've experienced it during the transition to online business.
We've experienced COVID.
We've watched the way people communicate and learn change dramatically.
And we've tried to adapt our leadership to those changes.
The Team University is one part of that evolution.
Our philosophy has always been to create an ecosystem of support rather than simply tell people to go out and figure it out themselves.
That's why we combine technology with live training, personal mentorship, community, events, and recognition.
That philosophy has played a major role in helping us become Alberta's first Senior Vice Presidents in ACN and build one of the leading organizations within the company. Our website documents that history, including our development from RVPs to SVPs and our work building THE TEAM.
But the app isn't the reason someone succeeds.

The app simply makes it easier to learn what to do.
